I love reading classic novels - not only does it make me feel smart :), but it also connects me to the many generations of readers who have read these stories before me. I am interested to find out "why is this book a 'classic'?"
What I don't usually love about classic novels is the publishing quality and craftsmanship. The books are either so old that they are smelly and falling apart. Or they are part of a huge roll-out of reproduced classic books that lack grandness and specialness.
Penguin to the rescue! Today, 10.27.09, Penguin is releasing eight beautifully covered and published classics. Produced in-house by Coralie Bickford-Smith, these intricately patterned hardback classics are just as gorgeous as they are literally filling.
